Who Did What? The Closing Ceremonies!

Thomas has posted the Genea-Blogger Games: Closing Ceremonies with some interesting tidbits about the games as well as the flags of all medal winners along with their medal count.

Among other interesting facts regarding the games that Thomas provided is that 35 of the 38 people who entered the competition were able to complete one or more events as planned and earn at least one medal. A total of 120 medals were awarded, of which there were 40 Platinum, 33 Diamond, 24 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze. Be sure to read the rest of his post for more information and to see who did what. Great job, everyone! Are you ready for ..?

So, how did I do? The details are here. . .

Hambleton Peninsula circuit

5 miles. With Terry, Eddie, Barry, Gordon, Carol, Ian, Kate and Jill. From the end of the road round the cycle track anticlockwise. Drizzly at first, then clear and fine - coolish wind. Lunch at Don Paddy's.

Hambleton Old Hall

We paused for a break at the two benches overlooking Hambleton Old Hall. Fishing boats floated on the water. The bluebells were delightful. We saw lots of swifts hunting insects, and Carol assured me the loud birds we we heard were blackcaps.

Purple Petunias!

Friday, June 3rd - - Another beautiful day in Salt Lake City. Another “lunch date” this time with Carol's husband who somehow managed to get us free desert (the waiter forgot to give us a discount on coupons we had). Another slow stroll through Temple Square and the lovely gardens. This really is an incredible place!

Cats and Dogs

Some photos of my cats and dogs. Tuffee playing with a toy. Twinkie and Cassie, the cats that we adopted last year.

Tuffee and Ziva resting after running around on the outside of the horse pen while ponies ran on the inside.

Wiley Cat.

Ziva cooling her feet while getting a drink.

Tuffee and then Ziva showing how they get in and out of Star's pen, my blind horse, so they can chase off the nasty neighbor dog that barks at Star. The dogs are very protective of her. Ziva will spend most of the day in her pen with her when I let her, even thou she would probably be more comfortable is some other part of the yard.

Another Big Rock

We found this big rock when we took a snack break while on our drive. This is set back from in the trees across the road from where the Rock Bear is. It can't be seen from the road and is great for exploring. We found lots of holes in it, and a big crack or short tunnel in one end that we could walk through as shown in the posts below. You can find dead trees leaning against them and small bonsai type shrubs and trees growing in and on the rocks. You can get an idea just how big it is when you see me standing in the crack. This shot doesn't show the rock crack from which the photos below were taken as it is on the left side, just out of sight, in this photo. But you can see a sort of crack low on the left side.
